1. pothole /'pɒthəʊl/

n. （路面、河底等的）坑，坑洞

补充：roads riddled/ dotted with potholes 坑坑洼洼的路面

e.g. After the heavy rain， numerous potholes appeared on the road， making driving difficult.

e.g. His morning commute became a frustrating experience as the road was dotted with potholes from recent construction work.
